Prof Augustine Odili
Augustine Odili is a Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine and Consultant Cardiologist at the University of Abuja/ University of Abuja Teaching Hospital. He was previously the Director of Research and Innovation, the Deputy Dean and later the Acting Dean, Faculty of Clinical Sciences at the same institution. He also served as the Pioneer Vice-Chancellor, Magaret Lawrence University, Galilee, Delta State Nigeria. Augustine is the current President of the Nigerian Cardiac Society and the President of Society for Public Health and Social Development. He sits in the Council (the apex decision making body) of the International Society of Hypertension (ISH) andChairs the African Regional Advisory Group of thesame global body. He is the Principal Investigator to a number of large-scale epidemiological studies including the Removing the Mask on Hypertension (REMAH), Nigerian Salt Survey (NSS), and Community Action Against Non-Communicable Diseases (COMAAND). His research work, which focuses on hypertension prevention in low resource settings, is quoted over 2,500 times and as such he was listed by SCIVAL among the top 500 authors in Nigeria (2020-2023).
